Kris Rolland Rantz

Kris R. Rantz was born February 25, 1957 in Council Bluffs, IA; the son of Fredrick and Alice Rantz.  Kris passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2024 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 67.

Throughout Kris’s life he lived in multiple locations including Montana, Wisconsin, Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa. Kris graduated from Woodland Park High School in 1975.   This is where he met the love of his life Debbie and was married to her for 46 years until his passing.  They had two boys Travis and Brian.  Kris served in the armed forces through the United Sates Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1986.  Kris enjoyed many aspects of life including camping, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, boating, golf, watching sports, spending time with family and listening to Talk Radio on long drives (with many stops at convenient stores along the way)! If you ever met Kris he usually had a Brittney Spaniel by his side or at least talked about his dogs!  He will continue to be loved and missed by all.

Surviving Kris Rantz are his spouse Debbie S. Rantz of Cortez, CO; his children Travis Rantz (Amber) of Dolores, CO and Brian Rantz of Cortez, CO; by his grandchildren Jenesis Shields, Dylan Rantz, Zach Rantz, Michael Rantz, Levi Rantz, Loralei Rantz and Jax Rantz; by his great grandchild Mateo Rantz; and his siblings Laurie Pleiss of Gretna, NE and Valarie Ridpath (Fred) of Gretna, NE. And many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kris was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Alice Rantz.
