KEVIN EUGENE HARPER Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Kevin Eugene Harper will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 10 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Inurnment services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 11 at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Kevin was born on July 14, 1975 in Durango, the son of Nolan and Jacqueline Sue (Crilly) Harper. He passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 34. On May 24, 1998, Kevin married Kristi Potter at the Church of the Nazarene in Cortez. A self-taught truss designer, Kevin worked at Pro-Build for 14 years. He was a wonderful husband and father; Kevin was also a devoted Christian. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the mountains camping, gardening, and riding motorcycles. Kevin deeply loved his wife and children. Surviving Kevin are his wife, Kristi Harper of Cortez; his children, Tanner and Brooklynn Harper of Cortez; and his parents, Nolan and Jacqueline Harper of Mancos. Kevin also leaves behind his siblings, Larry Chandler of Phoenix, Ariz., Gary Chandler and wife, Kim of Lakewood, Colo., and Karen Yose and husband, Steven of Sammamish, Wash. Memorial contributions may be made in Kevin’s name to First National Bank in Cortez.
