KENNETH JOE WARD Funeral services for lifelong area resident Kenneth Joe Ward will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 25 at Ertel Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Marvin Graves officiating. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Kenneth was born on September 22, 1942 in Rico, Colorado to Kenneth Maxwell and Hester H. (Baysinger) Ward. He passed away on June 21, 2012 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. On February 7, 1987 Kenneth married Sharon Kay Donaldson in Cortez. Kenneth served three years in the National Guard and worked for 15 years in the Argentine Mine in Rico. He enjoyed working on and painting vehicles. In his spare time Kenneth loved being in the mountains hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood. He also enjoyed picnicking around Rico and Groundhog Lake. Surviving Kenneth are his wife, Sharon Ward; and his children, Ben Ward, Georgia Ward, Lousinda Ward, and Callie Ward all of Mancos. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Hester Ward; and his brother Tex Ward.
