KENNETH GRAY WARREN Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Kenneth Gray Warren will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Don Henderson of the Cortez First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Summit Ridge Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Ken was born in Missouri on April 16, 1934, the son of Otis and Opel Warren. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 13, 2004. He was 69 years old. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cortez and in his free time he loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed playing cards. Surviving Ken are his wife, Vanita (Weaver) Warren of Cortez; sons, Kevin Warren and wife, Barbie of Tacoma, Wash. and Kurtis Warren and wife, Ina of Summit Ridge; stepchildren, Dena Perea and husband, George of Bernalillo, N.M., Pat Atkinson and husband, Royce of Cortez, and Judy Tate also of Cortez; and ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, John Warren and wife, Dortha of Cortez, Barbara Harris of Sacramento, Calif., Marion Warren of Missouri and Laura Reaks and husband, Richard of Missouri. Preceding Ken in death was his twin sister, Kay; and his first wife, Lorna (Grader) Warren in February 1989.
