Kenneth Albert 'Ken' Chadd

Inurnment for Kenneth Albert ‘Ken’ Chadd, currently of Cortez, CO, but a lifelong resident of Mancos, CO, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos, CO. Military honors will be performed by the Veterans of Montezuma County.
Ken was born October 28, 1930 in Cortez, CO the son of James Jefferson and Dora Mary (Smally) Chadd. He passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at his residence at the age of 89.
Ken served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea from July, 1952 to January, 1961.
Ken is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ernestine Chadd of Cortez, CO; his two sons from a previous marriage, Alvin Chadd of Craig, CO, and Albert Chadd (Key) of Craig, CO; three step children, Roxie Hawkins (Ted) of Cortez, CO, Cheryl Grubb (Warren) of Dove Creek, CO, and James Eaton of Cortez, CO; his sister, Shirley Grimes of Bloomfield, NM; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Kathy Benton and Irene Smith; his four brothers, Earl Chadd, Gene Chadd, Harold Chadd, and Bill Chadd; his daughter-in-law, Becky Eaton; and his brother-in-law, Bill Grimes.
Ken loved fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling with his wife and brother-in-law David Coppinger.
