Kelly Jean Candelaria

KELLY JEAN CANDELARIA Funeral services for lifelong area resident, Kelly Jean Candelaria will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 1 at the Cortez Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Kelly was born the daughter of Willard Allen and Nina Lee (Cook) Bishop on October 1, 1956 in Cortez. She passed away at her home on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the age of 52. Kelly married James Stephen Candelaria on November 8, 1992 in Denver, Colo., enjoying nearly 17 years of marriage. Jim shared that Kelly provided wonderful ideas to him in his construction business, that she was truly an inspiration. Kelly loved time spent outdoors, most especially time spent at their Groundhog cabin in the spring. She was an avid Broncos fan and loved attending the games. Kelly loved her family deeply and time spent with them brought her much joy. Surviving Kelly are her husband, Jim Candelaria of Dolores; her children, Amy Harris and husband, Kent of Lewis, Denton Murphy and wife, Michelle of Yellow Jacket, Colo., Jacqueline Candelaria of Denver and Stephen Candelaria of Dolores; five grandchildren, Ty, Jace, Noah, and Marcus Harris, and Logan Muzzy; and by her siblings, Linda Burns and husband, Bob of Durango, Bruce Bishop and wife, Vonita of Etna, Calif., Barbara Mellott and husband, Jim of Kenai, Alaska, and Ronda Lancaster and husband, Sam of Pleasant View, Colo.
