Kay Bush

KAY BUSH Kay Bush was born on January 19, 1937 in Cortez, Colo. to Walter and Nanalee Winegar. She passed away on February 20, 2011 in Albuquerque, N.M. at the age of 74 following a lengthy battle with cancer. She grew up in the Cortez area, attended school here and married Richard R. "Dick" Smith in 1954. They had two children, Rick and Leslie. Kay later married Lloyd L. "Red" Bush in 1967. Kay leaves her children, Rick (Linda) Smith of Cortez and Leslie Smith of Albuquerque, N.M.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Amber Jaworsky, Vanessa Bridges, and Dylan Gwynn; her great-grandchildren, Jade and Jordan Johnson, Brooklyn, Chase and Jack Jaworsky, and Breanna Scott. Kay also leaves her brother, James W. (Pat) Winegar of Glen Rose, Tex.; and her mother, Nanalee Winegar of Cortez. Kay also has an extended family that she leaves to mourn her passing, two step-daughters, Patricia Mahnke of Peoria, Ariz., and Shirley Matney of Glendale, Ariz.; two step-sons, Mike and Andy Bush of Bakersfield, Calif.; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Red Bush; and by her father, Walter W. Winegar. Kay and her ready smile and friendly disposition will be greatly missed by many more aunts, cousins, and many, many friends. Private memorial services will be held at a later date at the Cortez Cemetery.
