Katie Mae (Dornik) Waggoner passed away in Mancos, CO on February 12, 2018 at the age of 87. Katie was born January 1, 1931 in Bisbee, AZ to Tony S. and Musa Mae (Grosh) Dornik. She lived her early life in Miami, AZ where she graduated from Miami High School and was a member of the marching band. Katie spent her life working as a secretary, homemaking and raising children in both Arizona and Colorado. She was a reader, cook, collector of Coca-Cola items, antiques, teapots and teddy bears. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, serving in many ways. Katie loved being a mother and grandmother. Katie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Forrest; her three sons, Forrest (Wendelin), Jerald (Bobbie), James (Roberta); her two daughters, Debra Loder (Dave) and Charlotte Quercia (Bob); her grandchildren, Teresa Hargis, Andy (Heidi), Forrest (Londa), Deanna Gerdes, Ryan (Cassie), Kathryn Wood (Josh) and Anthony Loder; her great-grandchildren; her sister, Jessie Harper; and brother, Stanley Dornik (Leota). Funeral services will be held at Ertel Funeral Home on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos, Colorado. Katie's family thanks the staff at The Valley Inn for their many years of care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association or religious institution of your choice. Katie will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Katie lives on in the hearts of those who continue to love her.
