KARREN JEAN LAY Memorial services for Dove Creek resident Karren Jean Lay will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Farren will officiate. Karren Jean Lay was born on February 21, 1948 in Cortez, the daughter of Davis Jackson and Zareefa Agean (Pridemore) Cobb. She passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007 at her residence in Dove Creek at the age of 59. Karren enjoyed crocheting, silversmithing and playing videogames. She also liked to spend time woodworking and reading. Surviving Karren are her children, Melissa Cox and husband, Everett of Rollo, Missouri, Patricia Lay of Norwood, Colo., and Shelly Boggs and husband, Wesley of Dove Creek; her grandchildren, Darrell Robinett and wife, Elizabeth, James Lay, Clayton Robinett and wife, Maegan, Michael Foster, Joseph Foster, Michael Boggs, Cheyenne Boggs, Christopher Cox and wife, Jessica, and Matthew Cox and wife, Collette; her great-grandchild, Kylina Robinett; her ex-husband, Clyde Lay of Dove Creek; and her step-daughters, Anna Hart of Oregon, and Carrie Lay. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Wendy Lynne Lay. Memorial contributions may be made in Karren’s name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740, Cortez, Colo. 81321.
