She also taught Sunday School and volunteered at the Methodist Thrift Store for many years. She worked tirelessly for various Mission projects.
Karen became involved in politics at a young age, helping her mother on a Presidential campaign before she was old enough to vote. She stayed active in politics, serving the Central Committee and Women’s Clubs at both the local and state levels. She helped with several election campaigns. She served as a precinct chair and secretary in Montezuma County for years. Karen maintained a membership, serving in various offices in Republican Women’s clubs since moving to Colorado. Her last membership was with the Lewis Grange. She also was a member of Emblem Club for years and held various offices during her tenure.
