JUNE LEMOYNE POSEY Memorial services for Dove Creek resident June LeMoyne Posey will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 29 at the Dove Creek First Baptist Church. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday afternoon from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. June was born January 5, 1924 in Hollis, Okla. the daughter of Milton and Gertrude LeMoyne (Howard) Hughes. She passed away on February 21, 2008 in Brownfield, Tex. at the age of 84. On Dec. 25, 1944 June married James Posey in Cahone, Colo., sharing over 63 years of marriage together. She enjoyed the life of farming and homemaking. June was quite a seamstress spending much of her free time making clothes and quilts. She also enjoyed canning from her garden for the family to enjoy through the winter. June loved the Lord. Surviving June are her husband, James Posey of Dove Creek; her five children, Roger Posey and wife, Sheryl of Brownfield, Tex., Phyllis Tillman and husband, Jim of California, Jo Tabor and husband, Kent of Eagle Pass, Tex., Ronnie Posey and wife, Debbie of Bayfield, Colo., and Roxie Fink and husband, John of Fairbanks, Alaska; and by 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. June is also survived by her brother, Jimmy Hughes and wife, Janet of Clyde, N.Y.; and two sisters, Edna Myrle Spillar of San Antonio, Tex., and Sue Johnson of Albuquerque, N.M. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by three siblings, Howard Hughes, Anne Weese and Lorna Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you to consider a donation in memory of June Posey. These donations should be sent to Community Bank of Dove Creek with distributions being made among the local ambulance fund, international bible distributors and area medical facilities.
