Julius Waymund Bond

JULIUS WAYMUND BOND Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Julius Waymund Bond will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Ron Horne of the First Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation has been set for Wednesday afternoon at the Ertel Chapel from 3 to 5 p.m. Waymund was born on April 15, 1917 at Fort Cobb, Oklahoma the son of John William and Georgia Missouri (Saddler) Bond. He passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at his residence in Cortez. Waymund was 87 years old. On June 17, 1936 in Chickasha, Okla. Waymund married Minnie Gertrude Sample. In 1959 Waymund and his family moved to the Cortez area. He worked as a derrick foreman for Superior Oil Company for 33 1/2 years. Surviving Waymund are his wife, Minnie Bond of Cortez; his children, Aretta Gooch and husband, Tommy of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jo Ann Miller of Carlsbad, N.M., Reta McNeill and companion, Don Fox of Cortez, John W. Bond and wife, Deanna of Cortez, J. Howard Bond and wife, Kaye of Perry, Okla., and Gail Bond and companion, Gary Gellatly of Cortez; and his sister, Armetta Knowles of North Hollywood, Calif.
