JULIE ANN GREER RIETZ Memorial services for longtime Mancos resident Julie Ann Greer Rietz will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 12 at the Mancos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Julie was born February 27, 1957 in Toul Rosieres, France the daughter of Lawrence Allen and Lenna (Lang) Smith. She passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 58. On October 11, 2014, Julie married Charles Richard Rietz in Mancos. She was a member of the National Rifle Association. Julie loved her family and spending time in the mountains. She enjoyed genealogy and medical research. Julie's children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Surviving Julie are her husband, Chuck Rietz of Mancos; her children, Sonya Valles (Estevan) of Cortez and Jake Greer (Melanie Higbee) of Marvel, Colo.; her grandchildren, Jaiden Valles, Jacobe Valles, Isabella Valles, and Atticus Greer; and by her siblings, Barbara Hobbs of Cortez and Greg Smith of Wyoming. Julie was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Stanley Smith.
