JUDITH IRENE "JUDY" BISHOP Funeral services for longtime Dolores resident Judith Irene "Judy" Bishop will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 2 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Judy was born on February 18, 1942 in Cortez the daughter of Bert and Edna Stone. She passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 66. Judy attended school in Cortez and graduated from Montezuma County High School in 1960. She went on to beauty college and worked in Cortez for several years. On February 20, 1966, Judy married Dan Bishop. They had four children, Rodney, Janet, Jodi, and Lana. Judy was a devoted housewife and took great pride in raising her children. Following retirement in 1999, the couple moved back to the Cortez area. Surviving Judy are her husband, Dan of Dolores; her three daughters, Janet Bishop of Pueblo, Colo., Lana Quintana and husband, Mike of Pueblo, Colo., and Jodi Caple and husband, Doug of Dolores; seven grandchildren; and her siblings, Raye Kennedy of Dolores, Glen Stone of Las Cruces, N.M., Jerald Stone of Dolores, and Charles Stone of Mantor, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rodney Bishop; her sister, Jessamin West; and her brother, Joe Stone. Services are under the direction of Ertel Funeral Home.
