JUANITA ELINE GRAY Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Juanita Eline Gray will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 5 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Sylvan Cemetery. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. A Wake will be held at the home of Kathy Smith, 9554 Road 29, Cortez following the interment service. Juanita was born on November 3, 1942 in Pleasant View, Colo. the daughter of Forrest S. and Juanita (Remer) Gray. She passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at her residence at the age of 65. Juanita worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a highway contractor. She was gifted when it came to crafts, most especially with crocheting and making dolls. Having helped to raise two generations of children, Juanita's family was her first priority. Surviving Juanita are her children, Donna Wells, Leslee Ham, and Lawrence Walker, all of Cortez; by her brothers, Bud Gray and wife, Judy of Sugar City, Colo., Bruce Gray, Wilbern Gray, Virgil Gray and wife, Lorraine, Steve Gray, Harold "Skip" Gray and wife, Della, Junior Sabo and Arlas Sabo all of Cortez; sisters, Mary Provstgarrd of Okanogan, Wash., Flora Flaugh, Kathy Smith and husband, Dan, and Judy Sabo all of Cortez; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and stepmother, Flora Gray; her daughter, Alice Nichols; one brother, Forrest Gray Jr.; and two sisters, Faye Hackett and Janie Gray.
