Joyce Helena Baker

Cortez resident Joyce Helena Baker was born December 29, 1926 in Mancos, CO the daughter of Frank Taylor and Minnie Kathryn (Kelly) Hammond. She passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Vista Grande in Cortez, CO at the age of 93.
Joyce loved her walks. She could walk all over the town. She loved to go for car rides. Anytime she could go for a ride she wanted to go, especially to Mancos Valley where she grew up. She was an avid BINGO player, she loved it. She loved to read, do crosswords, and visit with friends. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune. She loved her kids and all her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved her husband. Her husband and kids were her priority. Joyce and Harry were married 65 years before he passed.
Surviving Joyce are her children, Linda Kathleen Benshoof of Cortez, CO, Kelly Eugene “Gene” Baker of Cortez, CO, Sandra Joyce Baker of Glendale, AZ, and Nana Lee Bishope of Mesa, AZ; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Harry Eugene Baker; her brother, Frank Kelly Hammond; and her sister, Kathleen Ferando.
She will truly be missed by all.
