Joyce Helen Green

Joyce Green was born on December 4, 1922 in New Orleans, LA. She was 98 when she passed away on January 21, 2021 at Vista Grand Nursing Home, Cortez, CO. She was born to Anthony C. Barichivich, Sr. and Emma Sutherland Barichivich and was the eldest of four children.
Joyce married George W. Green Jr. on November 9, 1943 and they had three children, Marcia, Kenneth, and Kevin. She had a long life full of family, friends, and faith. Joyce was 57 when she became a widow and had to become independent and learn to drive. She had the support of family and friends. She developed a love of travel and was able to go all over Europe, including East Germany before the wall came down. She was devoted to her church and often served with friends cooking large meals in the church kitchen. She was a wealth of stories and held on to wonderful memories. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. In her later years, after moving to Colorado, she was able to spend more time with family.
Surviving Joyce are her daughter Marcia Warner (Art), Stephanie Serff (Ian), Suzanne Dodgen (Robert); her daughter-in-law, Dr. Penny Green; her sister, Merlyn Seither; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Anthony C. Barichivich Sr.; her mother, Emma Barichivich; her husband, George W. Green Jr.; her sons, Kenneth and Kevin; her brother, Anthony C. Barichivich Jr.; and her sister, Carolyn Simpson.
