JOY VANBUREN Funeral services for lifelong area resident, Joy VanBuren will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 23 at the Arriola Bible Church. Pastor Kent Slyter will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Joy was born on January 20, 1951 in Cortez the daughter of Audrey Eugene and Maybell (Hollen) Wayman. She passed away on Monday, September 19, 2005 at her home in Cortez at the age of 54. Joy was a school bus driver for the RE-1 school district for 26 years. This was her life, she loved the children. On December 28, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nev. she married Fred Kelly VanBuren. During her spare time, Joy enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, and camping. Surviving Joy are her husband, Fred K. VanBuren; her children, Page Bane and wife, Roxanne, Darnell Bane all of Cortez, Gizial Livingston and husband, Allen of Huntington, Utah, Katrina Baumgartner and husband, Brian of Pleasant View, and Lance VanBuren of Huntington, Utah; her six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; her mother, Maybell Wayman of Cortez; and her siblings, Stella Barnard and husband, Jim of Cortez, Kay Cage and husband, James of Floydada, Tex., Echo Williams and husband, John of Monticello, Utah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her father, Audrey Eugene Wayman; and her sister, Della Wilson. Memorial contributions can be made in Joy’s memory to Hospice of Montezuma.
