JOSEPHINE DORA “JO” GREENLEE Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Josephine Dora “Jo” Greenlee will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 15 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Matthew Segebartt will officiate. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. Jo was born on April 4, 1917 in Cortez, the daughter of Hoy and Dorothy (Carlisle) Hathcock. She passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at her home at the age of 89. On July 18, 1937, Jo married Wilbur Greenlee in Cortez. Jo and Wilbur celebrated 47 years of marriage before his death in 1984. She enjoyed time spent at the Senior Center and always looked forward to a trip with her “senior” friends. Crocheting, reading and playing card games were a few of Jo’s favorite pastimes. Surviving Jo are her children, Lynn Greenlee and wife, Elaine of Cañon City, Colo., Ed Greenlee and wife, Kathy of Cortez, Richard Greenlee and wife, Joyce of Lebanon, Colo., Larry Greenlee of Sterling, Colo., Glenna Hodge, Dorothy Jo Carver, and Leah Greenlee, all of Cortez, and Delora Dixon and husband, Gary of Ft. Collins, Colo. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her sister, Catherine Lichliter; and a special friend, George Engelhart, both of Cortez. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur; her brothers, Bill Johnson and Cy Johnson; and her grandson, Lynn Greenlee Jr. Memorial contributions may be made in Jo's name to the Cortez Senior Center.
