Joseph William Sandrin

JOSEPH WILLIAM SANDRIN Joseph William Sandrin was born on November 20, 1920 in Livingston, Ill. the son of Fiorvante and Maria (Cescato) Sandrin. He passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. On February 25, 1950, Joe married Lydia Paula Grbac in Chicago, Ill. Joe was quite athletically gifted, he was a catcher for the St. Louis Browns baseball team. Joe also served his country during WWII in the United States Coast Guard. His working career saw him as a machinist for the Denver Post. He proudly retired from the Post after many years of hard work. In his spare time, Joe liked fishing, woodworking and working with his hands. He really enjoyed traveling. Surviving Joe are his wife, Lydia Sandrin of Cortez; his children, James Sandrin and wife, Trudy of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Susan Holgate and husband, Richard of Durango, Robert Sandrin and wife, Diane Morris of Santa Fe, N.M., Terry Sandrin and wife, Catherine of Denver, and Donald Sandrin and wife, Amy of Olympia, Wash.; and his grandchildren, Vanessa and Skylar Holgate, Claire and Tereza Sandrin, Ben Sandrin, Nicole Auldridge, and Anthony Sandrin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Alvera Frantzen and Linda Nelson. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.
