JOSE "OSCAR" BALDERRAMA Celebration of life services for Jose "Oscar" Balderrama will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 23 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 540 W. 4th Street, Cortez. Please come and share stories of the good time had with Oscar. Longtime Cortez resident Oscar Balderrama passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. He was born August 18, 1955 in Chihuahua, Mexico. Oscar enjoyed many activities including 4-wheeling, camping, and reminiscing with old friends over an ice cold Bud Light. Oscar was preceded in death by his son, Jearl Blake Ruiz; his mother, Trinidad Balderrama; his father, Jose Ruiz; and by his brother, Martin Ruiz-Balderrama. Surviving Oscar are his wife, Sue Ruiz of Cortez; his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Kelli Thompson of Cortez; his daughter, Jacqueline Hart of Cortez; his sister, Alicia and husband, Juan Guzman, and their children, Martha Alicia, Juan Carlos and Ricardo, all of Chihuahua, Mexico; and by numerous relatives and many friends.
