JOHN WAYMUND BOND Celebration of life for longtime Cortez resident John Waymund Bond will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 at Rock Springs Community Church. John was born April 26, 1943 in Carnegie, Okla. the son of Julius Waymund and Minnie Gertrude (Sample) Bond. He passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 74. Surviving John are his loving wife of 54 years, Deanna Bond of Cortez; his sons, Daven Bond (Tawna) of Lakewood, Colo., Doug Bond (Kristen) of Longmont, Colo., and Dwayne Bond (Erin) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his grandchildren, Kelly Bond and Mitchell Bond of Longmont, Colo., Megan (Bond) Sharkey (Matthew) of Lakewood, Colo., and Anden Bond and Logan Bond of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and by his siblings, Aretta Gooch of Oklahoma City, Okla., Reta McNeill (Don Fox) Of Cortez, Howard Bond (Kaye) of Perry, Okla., and Gail Bond (Gary Gellatley) of Cortez. John was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Joann Miller. Memorial contributions may be made in Johns name to the Four Corners Child Advocacy Center 140 N.
