John Olin Spradley

JOHN OLIN SPRADLEY Memorial Mass for Cortez resident John Olin Spradley will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. John was born on July 17, 1927 in Denver, Colo. the son of Henry Grady and Marie (Farrey) Spradley. He passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at his residence at the age of 81. John married Beverly Lawrence in Denver, Colo. in 1960. He spent over 25 years teaching at Metro State College in the Denver area. An outdoor enthusiast, John enjoyed hiking, snow skiing, and photography. He was proud that he accomplished climbing all of Colorado's Fourteeners. John was a member of the Colorado Mountain Club. Surviving John are his wife, Bev Spradley of Cortez; his daughters, Julie Spradley of Denver, Cathy Knox and husband, Mark of Cortez, and Janet Spradley of Denver; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron, Rachel, and Isaiah Knox.
