John Louis Paquin

Graveside services for lifelong Mancos resident, John Louis Paquin, will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Cedar Grove cemetery in Mancos, CO. John was born on November 2, 1935 in Mancos, Colorado to Lorna and Louis Paquin. He passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Valley Inn in Mancos, CO at the age of 83.
John met his wife, Ellen Paquin, on dare in high school and they married shortly after graduation on October 5, 1956. From this union they had two children, a daughter Kay Sanders, and son Ronald Paquin. John graduated from Colorado University with a Pharmacy degree. From there he purchased the Drug Store in Mancos, from which many family, friends and residents have a good story to share. He supported the community that was so important to him in multiple ways over the years.
John had a love for life, family, and friends. He enjoyed a good joke, most of which he instigated. John enjoyed spending time in the mountains at the cabin, hunting, snowmobiling and four wheeling. His greatest moments were with his family sharing stories and passing on his wisdom.
John is survived by his son Ronald Paquin (Sheri); his grandchildren, Christopher Sanders (Vanessa), Cassie Alexander (Keith), Ryann Sanders (Zac), Jesse Knowlton (Chris), and Trevor Paquin; his great-grandchildren, Jade and Unique Sanders, Netasha, Camryan, and Milah Rocha, Addison Alexander, Paizley and Bret Wilson, and Maxx Knowlton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorna and Louis Paquin; his sisters, Lorna Finnegan and Yvonne Gilliland; his wife Ellen Paquin; his daughter, Kay Sanders; and his great-grandchild, Jace Alexander.
