JOHN LINCOLN FURY Funeral services for lifelong Dove Creek resident John Lincoln Fury will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26 at Dove Creek First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Dove Creek Cemetery. Mr. Travis Randolph will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. John was born August 22, 1932 in Dove Creek the son of Joseph and Jessie Juanita (Neighbor) Fury. He passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at his residence at the age of 83. John joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. On June 28, 1958 John married Genevieve Elizabeth Badding in Thornton, Colo. He worked for many years with the Dolores County Road and Bridge Department. John also farmed many acres raising dry land wheat and pinto beans. Farming was truly his passion. As a younger man, John enjoyed hunting. He was a kind and helpful man that will be greatly missed. Surviving John are his children, Juanita Young (Craig) of Crestview, Florida, Andreina Cundiff (Jim) of Dove Creek, Susie Foster (Cory) of Charlotte, N.C., John Fury Jr. of Dove Creek, and Allen Fury of Dove Creek; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and by his siblings, Mary Lou Matz of Centralia, Wash., and Isaac Fury (Dianna) of Bosque Farms, N.M. John was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Genevieve; and by his siblings, Paul Gene Fury and Betty Jo Badding.
