John Douglas Folsom

JOHN DOUGLAS FOLSOM Memorial services for John Douglas Folsom, a longtime resident of Rico, Colo. will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10 at the Rico Community Church. Bishop Spencer Smith will officiate. John was born the son of Donald Lyon and Joan Gay (Stanley) Lyon in Los Angeles, Calif. on Oct. 27, 1951. He passed away Friday, March 5, 2003 in rural Montrose, Colo. A creative person, John was a Master Carpenter and ran his own construction company. He drew great enjoyment from architecture and building. He loved animals, especially horses. John loved time spent gardening and he loved big trucks. He was also a Mason. Surviving John are his children, Rebecca Bolthouse and husband, Chuck of Marne, Mich., Martha Lyon of Phoenix, Ariz., Sarah Folsom of Durango, Adam Folsom and wife, Crystal of Rico, and Nathaniel Folsom of Dolores; grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Kaya and Quinton; and several step grandchildren. Also surviving John are his father, Donald Lyon and his wife, Virginia of Chattanooga, Tenn.; his mother, Joan Folsom of Rico; stepfather, Gene Folsom of Cortez; sisters, June Carter and husband, Peter of Rico, Dona D. Cody Lyon also of Rico, and Lyla Zamani and husband, Masood of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Stanley Folsom of Hesperus, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of John Folsom with any branch of Vectra Bank.
