John Clay Dickson was born July 10, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Dr. John Dickson and Rose Marie Dickson. He was the oldest of three children. He passed away very unexpectedly and into the loving arms of Jesus on November 8, 2024.
Clay lived a long vibrant life with most of his years spent in Cortez excelling as an athlete, setting records and retiring from Kinder Morgan in 2020 after a long and successful career. He was blessed to have experienced a loving marriage to Cindy Dickson for 48 years and two years of dating for a total of 50 years of being together. Clay was a selfless man with his main focus to make sure his family was taken care of before ever considering himself. His dream was to own a Corvette in which he bought his first Corvette 4 years ago and recently bought a new Corvette 6 months prior to his passing. It was commonplace to see Clay and Cindy cruising Main in Cortez on a regular basis.
Clay was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John Dickson, and his Mother Rose Marie Dickson. He leaves behind his wife, the love of his life Cindy Dickson, two kids and their spouses, Brandon Clay Dickson and Angie, Ashlee Jo and Tyler Monarco, two grandkids’ Lucas and Ethan Clay Monarco, his sister Cynthia Browning, his brother Mark Dickson, brother-in-law Jon Stockdale and sister-in-law Diedra Stockdale along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will take place at 10:00am on May 17, 2025, at Rock Springs Church.
