JOHN A. MERRILL (August 21, 1980 - September 26, 2010) John A. Merrill, 30, of Cortez, CO died on September 26, 2010. He was born on August 21, 1980 in San Diego, CA, until the age of 7 when his family moved to the Annapolis area where he was raised. John graduated from the Broadneck Senior High School in 1998 he then continued his studies at Cornell University, where he graduated with his Masters degree and did his Undergraduate work with his focus on Natural Resources and Wildlife Management. John did some work for the Democratic Party from 2002-04 and also again in 2008-09. John served in the Peace Corps from 2005-07, most recently he had been working for the Rocky Mountain and Mesa Verde National Parks. In the future months John was looking forward to moving back to Washington, DC where he was to begin training for a position as a Diplomat Foreign Service Specialist. He was the beloved husband of Delmy Morales of Guatemala; loving son of Grayson and Jane Merrill of Severna Park and brother of David B. Merrill of VA Family and friends may gather from 7-9 pm on Friday October 1, 2010 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday October 2, 2010 at Asbury United Methodist Church 78 Church Road Arnold, MD 21012. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sierra Club Member Services 85 Second Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105-3441 Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com
