Joe Sagney Hulligan Sr.

    JOE SAGNEY HULLIGAN SR. 

    Funeral service for Towaoc resident, Joe Sagney Hulligan Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Towaoc Presbyterian Church. Internment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery.  

    Joe was born on May 1, 1942 in Kayenta, Ariz., the son of John Hulligan and Mary Denetsosie. He passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Durango, Colo., at the age of 81. 

   Joe was first responder and firefighter, who also drove trucks. He met and married Irene (Hammond) Hulligan and they made their home in Towaoc, Colo. Together they had three children. 

    Surviving are his children, Jodilynn Hulligan Watts of Towaoc, Benjamin Watts of Fort Duschesne, Utah, and Benda Watts of Ignacio, Colo. 

    Joe Sagney Hulligan Sr. was preceded in death by his parents; John Hulligan and Mary Denetsosie; his children, Jolanda Hulligan, Joe Sagney Hulligan, Sandra Watts, Jack Watts, and Benton Watts.
