JoAnn Hayes

Celebration of life for Cortez resident JoAnn Hayes will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday April 18^th, 2023 at Lighthouse Baptist Church.

JoAnn was born August 26^th, 1939 in Benton, Arkansas the daughter of Enos and Melba Garner. JoAnn passed away on Wednesday, April 12^th, 2023 at her home at the age of 83.

JoAnn was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed playing the piano at her church. She was married to Art Hayes in 1957 in Englewood Colo. They raised their children in Colorado and were longtime residents of Cortez.

Surviving JoAnn are her husband, Arthur Hayes of Cortez, CO; her children, Rene’ Weiss (Brad) of Sandia Park, NM, Lori Hayes of Cortez, CO and Chris Hayes (Jamie) of Peoria, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; and her sister, Gayle Garner of Englewood, Colo.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Enos and Melba Garner; her sister, Francis Garner; her brother, Denny Garner; and her sister, Janette Hester.
