JOANN OLIVIA GREEN
JoAnn Olivia Green, 82, passed away peacefully at her daughter and son-in-law’s home on October 31, 2023, after battling cancer for a second time. She leaves us with some empty hearts, yet knowing she’ll be reunited with our missed loved ones; her parents, Lawarence and Opal Kleppe; her brother, Michael; daughter, Kris Schurr; and her beloved husband, Johnny Green.
Jo was born in South Dakota, April Fool’s Day, April 1, 1941.
Those who remember Jo, remember her as the nut and bolt lady at Slavens for 20+ years. Prior to this she had two businesses, a bar in Mexican Hat, Utah, and Baines Meat Packing Plant here in Cortez. Those who had the joy of spending any time with Jo were blessed with many of her stories. She grew up in an era of change, from horse and buggy to vehicles, and black and white TVs to color.
Jo loved her Saturday yard sales, and Sunday Bronco games, and being around family and friends on the Holidays. She’ll be greatly missed. Jo was a very strong-willed woman, always with your best interest at heart.
Surviving Jo are her daughter and son-in-law, Jody (Schurr) Gomez and Richard Gomez; granddaughter, Kyley (Gomez) Hatch and husband, Mike Hatch of St. George, Utah; and two great grandkids who lit up her world, Kambryn and Bryker Hatch.
God Bless Jo. XOXOXO
