LONTINA JOSEPHINA "JO" MOTT Memorial Mass for Lontina Josephina "Jo" Mott a lifelong resident of Cortez will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 11 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Rosary Services will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, December 10 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Jo was born July 30, 1947 in Cortez the daughter of Adonais and Mary T. (Martinez) Gallegos. She passed away at University Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the age of 63. On April 27, 1967 Jo married Ralph Eugene Mott in Ft. George Mead, Maryland. Together they shared 43 years of loving marriage. Jo enjoyed sewing and crafts, and was a caregiver to all. She was a devoted member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Surviving Jo are her beloved husband, Ralph E. Mott of Cortez; her children, Jessica Sanders and husband, Gene of Cortez, Jesse Mott of Cortez and Michael Mott of Sterling, Colo.; and by two grandchildren, Alexa Janell Villar and Joseph Eugene Sanders. Jo is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Alex Gallegos of Cortez, Phillip Martinez and wife, Maxine of Bayfield, Colo., Toby Gallegos and wife, Sharon of Bayfield, Leonard Gallegos and partner, Ed Lantz of Denver, Colo., Mary Ann Miera and partner, Rafael Balderrama of Lewis, Colo., Larry Gallegos and wife, Kathy of Farmington, N.M., Carmen Gallegos of Cortez, Ernestine Olivas and husband, Gilbert of Cortez; her brothers-in-law, Ernest Mott and wife, Lee of Bloomfield, N.M. and Darrell Mott and wife, Ida of Cortez; her sisters-in-law, Carma Richens and husband, Mike of Dickenson, N.D., Kathy Ronquillo of Cortez, and Christina Rodriguez of Cortz; as well as by a large extended family. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; and by her sister, Stella Marquez. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Jo Mott at Citizens State Bank of Cortez.
