JIMMY LAIRD KENNEDY Funeral services for Durango resident Jimmy Laird Kennedy will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 3 at Lifeway Baptist Church in Cortez. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Wayne Frans and Pastor Roy Vinson will officiate. Jimmy was born on September 28, 1967 in Jal, N.M., the son of Jimmy O’Brien and Bonnie Jean (Gardner) Kennedy. He passed away at Four Corners Nursing Home on Thursday, July 26, 2007 in Durango at the age of 39 as a result of complications from hip replacement surgery. On April 22, 2007, Jimmy married Jennifer Dawn Jones. Jimmy loved to be around and socialize with people. He never knew a stranger. Jimmy was a loving father and was very involved with his daughters. Surviving Jimmy are his wife, Jennifer Kennedy of Durango; his parents Jimmy and Bonnie Kennedy of Dolores; his daughters, Sebrina Marie Kennedy of Durango, Marisa Nicole Kennedy, Melody Ruth Kennedy, and Michelle Lynn Kennedy, all of Dolores; his sisters, Debra Parker and husband, Michael of Tucson, Ariz., and Denise Dorsey and husband, Keith of Yuma, Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
