JIMMIE ROSE LANCASTER PERRY Funeral services for lifelong area resident, Jimmie Rose Perry, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment is pending for Sylvan Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Jimmie Rose Lancaster Perry, age 85, passed from this world Monday, June 8, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Durango. Jimmie was born on December 6, 1929 to Al and Alice Lancaster in Ackman, Colo. She attended high school in Cortez and graduated from Adams State College with a degree in education. She married Rex Perry on April 22, 1949. Both Jimmie and Rex made a career as educators. They both taught school in the Four Corners Area. They taught in Lebanon, Montezuma Creek, Moab, Bloomfield, and Shiprock. Upon retiring, Jimmie moved to Cortez where she lived until her death. Preceding Jimmie in death were her parents, Al and Alice Lancaster; her husband, Rex Perry; and her son, Tom Perry. She is survived by her son, James Perry and wife, Nora of Mancos; daughter, Ann Denetdale and husband, Terry of Newcomb, N.M.; and by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Jimmie was a long time member of the Church of Christ. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Jimmie Perry to Manulito Children's Home, PO Box 58, Gallup, N.M. 87305.
