JIM RAY EDDY Funeral services for lifelong area resident, Jim Ray Eddy will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 29 at Ertel Memorial Chapel with interment following at Cortez Cemetery. Jim was born October 8, 1935 in Amarillo, Texas the son of Clifford Neal and Lillian Matilda (Keeter) Eddy. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the age of 72. Jim attended school at Cahone, Arriola, Mancos and graduated from Cortez High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On April 12, 1957, Jim married Jaque Lynne Ream in Aztec, N.M. Earlier this year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Jim was a part owner and manager of Cortez Laundry and Dry Cleaners and also was owner of EDCO Trailers and was a welder as well. In his free time, Jim loved to play the guitar and shoot his guns. He also drew satisfaction from time spent doing genealogy work and fishing and camping. Surviving Jim are his beloved wife, Jaque Eddy of Cortez; his daughter, Linda Rae Becker and husband, Wayne of Arriola; and by two brothers, Neal Eddy and Tim Eddy both of Cortez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lillian Eddy; and by his sister, Betty Lou “Helen” Leonard.
