Graveside services with Military Honors for Cortez resident Jessie Nolan Carter will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 11 at Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Jessie passed away June 7, 2018 at his residence in Cortez at the age of 101. Jessie was born in Checotah, OK on May 9, 1917 to parents Isaac and Zoia (Cyrus) Carter. Jessie is survived by his son, Jim Carter of Cortez; his grandson, Bobby Carter of Cheyenne, WY; and his sister, Lena Farris of Tampa, FL. Jessie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara Emogene (Glazier) Carter; and his siblings, Verbal Carter, Florence Andrews and Jeraldine Nance.
