JESSE “JD” DANIEL MINOR
Jesse "JD" Daniel Minor was born July 4th, 2007, in Durango, Colo. to Jesse Nathan & Shandra Elizabeth (Gibbs) Minor. He passed away on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at the age of 16.
JD's personality was true to his birthday, he was a real firecracker. JD would have been a senior this upcoming school year and was expected to graduate in 2025. He had a personality that lit up a room. Known for his kind heart, quick wit, big smile and infectious laugh, JD made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
When it came to sports, he played some baseball, did peewee wrestling and tried soccer once, but ultimately it was football and basketball that he loved the most. In his past time JD loved doing many things, 4 wheeling, fishing, playing video games with friends, hunting with family, (aka the pack mule), watching scary movies with mom and being at the local racetrack with his dad and helping in staging where he got to tell the grownups what to do.
JD was preceded in death by his grandparents, Laurel Lee Haverkate, Stamie Minor and Richard Gibbs. He leaves behind a loving family; his parents Jesse and Shandra Minor of Dolores, Colo.; his sisters Taylor Minor (William Wright) of Cortez Colo.; Samantha Shaffer (Wyatt) of Cortez, Colo.; his grandparents Belinda Gibbs (Dan Conley) of Pleasant View, Colo.; Jack Minor of Grand Junction, Colo.; and John Haverkate of Australia; by his Great Grandparents, Victor Sundquist of Dolores, Colo. and Brabara Armstrong of Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family who will miss him dearly.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at 2 pm at the Dolores High School. A reception to follow at the high school.
