Jesse Ray Worrell, age 75 of Cortez, Colo. lost his battle to cancer on October 24, 2016. Jesse passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Jesse was born in Georgetown, Tex. on November 28, 1940 to Louis and Annie Worrell. He graduated from Ingram Texas High School where he excelled at track and basketball. Jesse served in the Air Force and later moved to Cortez in 1961. Jesse worked as an auto mechanic and owned his own business, Worrell Auto Repair. He enjoyed hunting, camping and restoring vintage cars. Jesse's biggest joy in life was being surrounded by his family. Jesse is survived by his wife, Louanna Worrell; children, Cynthia Head and her husband, Charles, Sandra Montano, and Michael Worrell; grandchildren, Robin Worrell-Scott, Holly Montano-Hofmann, Clint Montano, Garrett Montano, Sabra Montano, Austin Stewart, Jessica Worrell and Mikenzie Worrell; great-grandchildren, Kadence Buffington, Peyton Buffington, Lainey Scott, Jocelyn Hofman, Reigan Hofmann, and Preston Akin. Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Louis Worrell; mother, Annie Dean; brother, Ronny Worrell; sister, Wanda Wartenbach. There will be a celebration of Jesse's life at the American Legion, 320 N. Harrison, Cortez, Colo. 81321 on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Pastries and Refreshments will be severed.
