JESSE MARVIN DUFUR Graveside services for lifelong Dolores resident, Jesse Marvin Dufur will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel before the service. Jess was born on June 22, 1929 in Aztec, N.M. to Xavier and Elizabeth Annie (Payne) Dufur. He passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at the Mesa View Retirement Home at the age of 75. Jess owned and operated his own Tree Trimming business for a number of years. He loved to work and during his spare time enjoyed hunting. Surviving Jess are his children, Sharon Amber of Cannon Beach, Oreg., and Jess Daniel Dufur of Cortez; his grandchildren, John Dufur, and Steven Amber; his brother and sister, Norman Dufur of Farmington, N.M., and Cloy Hatch of Nampa, Ida.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; and four sisters.
