Jennie Summa

JENNIE SUMMA Graveside services for Towaoc resident Jennie Summa will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at the Towaoc Cemetery. Jennie was born on January 1, 1945 in Towaoc the daughter of George and Betty (Benally) Summa. She passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, N.M. at the age of 63. Jennie loved to play hand games and participate in the Sun Dance and Bear Dance. Walking was a major part of Jennie's life. She was involved in the Keep On Moving Program and she walked to the Four Corners just last week. Jennie also loved to do bead work. Surviving Jennie are her daughter, Arleen Colorow of Towaoc; two grandsons, Nathaniel Heart and Christen W. Heart both of Ignacio, Colo.; her siblings, Lena Summa of Towaoc, Richard Summa of Mescalero, N.M., Vernon Summa of White Mesa, Utah, Linda Summa of Dallas, Tex., Kathryn Summa, Mary B. Summa, Toni Summa, Gloria Summa, LaVerna Summa, and Vera Summa all of Towaoc; and her sister-in-law, Lucy Summa also of Towaoc. She was preceded in death by her son, Otis Jim; and her parents.
