JEANETTE DAVES Memorial services for Jeanette Daves will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 17 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Marvin Graves will officiate. A reception and celebration of Jeanette's life will follow the service at the Cortez Elks Lodge. Jeanette was born December 16, 1937 in the Lakeview, Colo. community. She was the daughter of Harry and Nelda (Swank) Carlson. Jeanette passed away on September 22, 2015 at the Good Life Senior Care, in Los Lunas, N.M. Jeanette was married for over 60 years to her husband, Dick Daves. They lived in Cortez for several years before moving to Albuquerque, N.M. Then the couple moved back to Cortez in 1973, where they have lived for the past 40+ years. Surviving Jeanette are her husband, Dick; and three children, Julie Pluemer and husband, Greg of Bosque Farms, N.M., Scott Daves and his wife, Juilene of Durango, Colo., and Randy Daves of Cortez. In addition she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Leia and Sean Pluemer, Brian and Carlin Daves, and Jessica, Garret, and Jacquie Daves; as well as many nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings include her sisters, Loretta Green of Cortez, Betty Carr of Sun City, Ariz., and Harry Swede Carlson and wife, Alice of Le Moore, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Nelda Carlson; and brother, Eddie. Jeanette was very adventurous, she liked to ski, hike, spend time at Lake Powell jet skiing & fishing, but most of all she loved working in her beautiful flower gardens.
