JANET LYN JOHNSON Memorial services for Janet Lyn Johnson, lifelong resident of this area, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 7 at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. Janet was born the daughter of Earl Lowell and Patricia Jodell (Waller) Rea in Durango, Colo. on April 11, 1956. She passed away at her home on Friday, July 1, 2005. Janet was 49 years old. On June 8, 1973 Janet married Kevin C. Johnson in Ignacio, Colo. They recently celebrated 32 years of marriage. She loved rodeos, roping and barrel racing and was a member of the Montezuma County Posseetts. She had a love of horses and dogs. For a time, Janet enjoyed oil painting, but most dear to Janet was time spent with her children. Surviving Janet are her husband, Kevin Johnson of Cortez; daughter, Erin Lynell Carlson and husband, Ryan of Fort Morgan, Colo.; son, Kevin Lex Johnson of Cortez; her parents, Earl and Patricia Rea of Ignacio; three sisters, Laura Lee Pargin and husband, Steve of Ignacio, Kristi Ann VanDenBerg and husband, Randy of Durango, and Shelly Renee McCoy and husband, Todd of Ignacio; brother, Bud Rea of Ignacio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
