James Orville Bagwell

JAMES ORVILLE BAGWELL James Orville Bagwell was born on November 17, 1929 in Superior, Ariz. the son of James Oscar and Mary Lou (Monroe) Bagwell. He passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 81. Jim married Rayola Turnbow in Whittier, Calif. The couple shared 44 loving years of marriage. Jim was an accountant by trade after receiving his C.P.A. license. He was employed by Navajo Hopi Relocation as a Finance Officer for over 10 years. Jim was a member of Arizona History, Pioneer Cemetery Association, Boy Scouts of America, and Webelos. In his free time, Jim enjoyed hiking and participating in Boy Scouts. He was fascinated by history and Jim was writing a book about the superstition around the Lost Dutchman Mine where Jacob Walz was a miner. Traveling was another of Jim's favorite pastimes. He and Rayola camped across the United States. Surviving Jim are his wife, Rayola Bagwell of Cortez; and his children, James Orville Bagwell Jr. and wife, Guadalupe of Chula Vista, Calif., Scotti Kathlene Bagwell of Cortez, and John Owen Bagwell of Flagstaff, Ariz. He also leaves behind his grandsons, James and Jacob Bagwell; his great-granddaughter, Addison Bagwell; and his siiblings, Lawanda Campbell and husband, George of Fillmore, Calif. and Louis L. Bagwell and wife, Jean of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; by his daughter, Mayo Bagwell McDonald; and by his sister, Myrene Bagwell. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
