JAMES LEROY STUCKMAN Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident James Leroy Stuckman will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10 at Cortez Cemetery. Bishop Doug Pace will conduct. Visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. James was born May 21, 1943 in Durango, Colo. the son of Fredrick Warren and Emily (Carter) Stuckman. He passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 72. James married Helen Ruth Shipman on January 10, 1964. James was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was baptized into the church in 1966. James enjoyed time spent fishing and camping in the mountains. Surviving James are his wife of 51 years, Helen Stuckman of Cortez; his children, Vicki Cundiff, Cindy Stuckman, Jimmy Stuckman (Joanie Espinoza), and Evalena Russell all of Cortez; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Hattie Comisky (Tom) of Cortez. James was preceded in death by his parents; by his siblings, Freddie Stuckman, Bobby Stuckman, Edward Stuckman, Delta Medina and Elaine Clary; and by his niece, Eunice Doty.
