JAMES JOSEPH ADAMS Mass of Christian Burial for long-time resident, James Joseph "Jim" Adams will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 28 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Jim was born September 19, 1935 in Anamosa, Iowa the son of Robert and Mary Gertrude Hendersen Northrup. He passed away November 25, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Durango at the age of 80. Jim married Juanita Beasley on October 19, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nev. He served for a term in the National Guard. Jim spent his life building beauty with wood and concrete as a general contractor and an artist as a stone mason. He enjoyed fishing, tooling leather work, was a veracious non-fiction reader and had a keen sense of humor. Jim is survived by his wife, Juanita of Cortez; his son, Gavin Adams (Ann) of Atlanta, Ga.; his daughter, Jocelyn Maldonado (Toby) of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three step-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to Catholic Relief Services, 228 W.
