JAMES EDWARD HORTON Memorial services for longtime Dolores resident, James Edward Horton will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 27 at the Johnson Memorial Methodist Church, 105 N. 8th, Dolores. A reception will be held following the service at the Horton residence located at 25274 Road T.5, Dolores. Jim was born on May 4, 1960 in Pittsburg, Kans. the son of Francis R. and Janice (Emeny) Horton. He passed away on Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at his home in Dolores at the age of 44. Jim was a passionate man who loved the outdoors, especially the Boggy Draw area. Sturgis was a favorite place for Jim to travel. He liked the North Dakota area. His dog, Vivian, was also a love of his life. Surviving Jim are his mother, Janice Horton; his sisters and brother, Susan Merillat, Jane Horton all of Dolores, and Scott Horton of Farmington, N.M.; he leaves several nephews and nieces, Nick, Kailee, Robbie, Jessica, Sarah, Daniel; and his great-niece, Trinity. Preceding him in death was his father, Francis Horton.
