James Edward “Jim” Fahrion was born November 20, 1930 in Bayfield, CO to John Edward Fahrion and Lucy (Ferando) Fahrion. Jim passed away on June 20, 2019 in Durango, CO at the age of 88.
Jim and Verna Marie Taylor married on March 12, 1955 in Cortez CO. He spent his early years in Rico, CO, Telluride, CO and his later years in the Dolores, Cortez area. Jim was a Korean War veteran. He worked as a miner, business owner of a hardware store and café in Telluride CO, heavy equipment operator, and later as a rancher in Dolores, CO. Jim enjoyed hiking and horseback riding in the mountains, camping, hunting, four-wheeling and working on his ranch.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Bob Fahrion.
Surviving Jim are his wife, Verna Marie (Taylor) Fahrion; son, Jack Fahrion and wife Jill Fahrion; daughter, Carma Moore and husband Jack Moore; daughter, Janet Walker and husband Chris Walker; granddaughter, Tamara Gonzales and husband Jacob Gonzales; great grandsons, Nicholas Gilmore and Benjamin Gonzales; and many other relatives, loved ones and friends.
No funeral service is planned.
