JAMES BENJAMIN PRESSON Memorial services for longtime Mancos resident, James Benjamin Presson will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. A private interment was later held. Jim was born on April 22, 1926 in El Paso, Tex. the son of Harry and Frances (Carsrud) Presson. He passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 78. Jim was an active man who loved playing his guitar, horseback riding, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed “putzing” around building and fixing things. He loved to take the kids camping and showed them hunter safety. Jim was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving Jim are his wife, Eddie Elizabeth Sahlen of Mancos; his children, Judith Presson of Tacoma, Wash., Michael James Presson of Hesperia, Calif. and Patricia Diane Presson of Langley, Wash. He leaves four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his first wife, June E. Presson. Memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s memory to the Dolores Fire Department.
