Memorial services for Cortez resident, Jacqueline Sperry Morrison, will be held at a later date. Jacqueline Sperry Morrison was born September 11, 1940 in New Haven, Conn. the daughter of Robert Truman and Virginia Glass Sperry. Jacky passed away on November 24th at the Valley Inn, Mancos at the age of 75. Jacky married Joseph Ephraim Morrison on June 25, 1966 in Needham, Mass. She attended Mason College in Maine and graduated from Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing. Jacky was a member of the AORN Association, served as a volunteer with many organizations including Special Olympics, the Valley Inn, as a nurse with a school district in Texas and 23 years with Community Connection. Jacky's nurturing nature served her well as a caretaker. Once you became her friend, you were friends for life. Jacky was good at staying in touch with everyone. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking. Jacky is survived by her husband, Joe Morrison of Cortez; her son, Jason E. Morrison of Dolores; her sister, Marsha Ann Moss of Mancos and numerous friends. Jacky was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made in Jacky's name to For Pet's Sake, P.O. Box 1705, Cortez, CO 81321. "Before you go to bed, give all your troubles to God...He's going to be up all night anyway."
