JACK WALTER MCCRACKEN Graveside services for longtime area resident Jack Walter McCracken will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 28 at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Jack was born January 2, 1914 in Rink, Ore. the son of Walter Lawrence and Nellie Mildred (Allen) McCracken. He passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Vista Grande Inn at the age of 96. On January 1, 1941, Jack married Corrine Hart. Early in his life, Jack worked in the lumber industry. He then went on to farm for many years. Jack enjoyed prospecting gold and tending to animals. Surviving Jack are his wife of 69 years, Corrine McCracken of Mancos; his daughters, Jane Milligan of Sacramento, Calif. and Mary Eagleman of Lamar, Colo.; his son-in-law, Tom Butler and wife, Lucy of Dolores; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Mildred Hackelman of Eugene, Ore. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; by his daughter, Patricia Butler; and by his siblings, Lloyd McCracken and Hellen Pearl.
